Rally in the Valley set for Friday in Bryce Jordan Center

University Park, Pa. — The Blue & White Society and Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics are teaming up to host the traditional Rally in the Valley football pep rally at approximately 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6, in the Bryce Jordan Center following the Nittany Lion basketball team's exhibition game against Slippery Rock.

Saturday's Ohio State football game has been declared a Penn State student White Out, and all students are encouraged to wear white to the game.

Rally in the Valley will pump up and prime the Nittany Lion faithful for the highly-anticipated clash between No. 10 Penn State and No. 12 Ohio State. The pep rally will feature Coach Joe Paterno, the Nittany Lion football team, Penn State cheerleaders, Lionettes dance team, the Blue Band, and the Nittany Lion. T-shirts will be given away at the pep rally.

The football pep rally will begin immediately after the Nittany Lion basketball game, Penn State's first game since winning the NIT Championship last April. The basketball game begins at 6 p.m., and tickets are $5 for the general public. Students and season ticket holders will be admitted for free. All fans who plan to attend the pep rally are encouraged to attend the basketball game. The Nittany Lions' regular season opener is Friday, Nov. 13 vs. Penn in the Jordan Center.

The Penn State-Ohio State series is tied at 12-12. Last year, the Nittany Lions scored 10 points in the final 6:25 to win, 13-6, in Columbus. Penn State's clash with Ohio State -- the 300th game to be played in Beaver Stadium -- will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be nationally televised by ABC/ESPN2. The Penn State Sports Network will broadcast the game, which can also be heard at http://www.GoPSUsports.com.
