University Libraries set hours for study days and holiday break

To accommodate end of the semester study needs, Pattee and Paterno Libraries will be open until 2 a.m. on most days starting Wednesday, Dec. 9, through Wednesday, Dec. 16. The "study all night" area, on the first and ground floors of Pattee Library, is open for 24-hour service at noon on Sunday, Dec. 6, until 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18 (this area also includes the computer lab). Hours for architecture and landscape architecture, earth and mineral sciences, engineering, and physical and mathematical sciences libraries at University Park are unchanged during this period, and they remain open until 6 p.m. on Dec. 18.

Another service added for the convenience and safety of students is the late-night CATA bus service. The Blue Loop and White Loop run until just after 2 a.m. during this period, beginning Dec. 9, with the additional hours sponsored by the University Libraries and Information Technology Services.

The hours for all Pattee and Paterno Libraries for the remainder of the December and January break are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 19 and 21 to 23, from noon to 5 p.m. on Dec. 28 to 30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 4 to 7, from 1 to 5 p.m. on Jan. 8, and from noon to 9 p.m. on Jan. 10.

Pattee and Paterno Libraries are closed on Dec. 20, 24 to 27, 31, and Jan. 1, 2, 3 and 9.

A scheduled electrical shutdown will delay the opening of Pattee Library, west, to 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 4, affecting the news and microforms library, library services for persons with disabilities, course reserves, the computer lab in this area, digital commons Pattee and the music and media center. Pattee Library and Paterno Library will open at 8 a.m. as normally scheduled. For more information on this scheduled shutdown, call 814-865-6368.

Regular hours of operation resume at 7:45 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 11. Call ahead at 814-865-3063 to confirm hours.
