Library offers free research basics classes starting Jan. 20

The University Libraries are offering a number of "Research in a Nutshell" classes this semester to help patrons get the most out of library resources. The hour-long classes are free and open to the public and do not require pre-registration. Participants will learn how to search efficiently for books, articles and other research materials in the CAT, the Libraries' online catalog, and in selected databases, including ProQuest. Participants also will learn the basics of APA and MLA citation styles.

Classes will take place at noon on Jan. 20, 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 8, 11 a.m. on Feb. 26, 2 p.m. on March 23, 11:30 a.m. on March 31 and at noon on April 15.

All classes will be held in the Gateway Lab (room 104) in Pattee Library on Penn State's University Park campus.
