GWIS hosts 'Inside the Scientists' Studio,' Thursday,

University Park, Pa. -- "Inside the Scientists' Studio," (ISS) a program that features interactive interviews with Penn State faculty and staff as well as industry and government professionals in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. Thursday, (Jan. 21), at 4 p.m. in 301D Life Sciences will be the first of a series of sessions for this year. Anyone is welcome to attend.

The Graduate Women in Science (GWIS) is hosting the event. This month's program spotlights an interactive interview series, featuring two women representing fields from the College of Liberal Arts and College of Education: Ashley Walter, Invasive Species Council coordinator and Chloe Silverman, assistant professor of Science Technology and Society (STS). The two will be interviewed about their personal and professional paths that eventually led to their positions today.

Following a formal interview, the session will be open for questions from the audience. For those not at University Park, the interview will be archived at: www.clubs.psu.edu/up/gwis/inside.htm. ISS interviews are held on the third Thursday of every month. ISS is sponsored by ArcelorMittal, UNISYS, The Huck Institute, and the Women in Sciences and Engineering (WISE) Institute.
