Gala raises money for Four Diamonds

New York -- Members of the Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group and the New York City and Northern New Jersey chapters of the Penn State Alumni Association gathered at Capitale in New York City on Friday, Jan. 22, for the 2010 Hope Gala, a Dance Marathon and Four Diamonds Fund benefit fundraiser.

The black tie-optional evening gathering welcomed Penn State alumni, family and friends, and featured signed Penn State and celebrity memorabilia for silent auction bidding, as well as a performance by members of the Penn State Marching Blue Band. Guest speakers included the founders of THON Express Hank & Connie Angus, as well as THON child Ashley Fazekas and parents Elaine & John Fazekas, the guest Four Diamonds Family of the evening.

The event, hosted by THON advocate and former Penn State football All-American LaVar Arrington, is in its second year, and continued its goal of raising money for pediatric cancer care via the Penn State Children's Hospital.
