Penn State Hillel receives international award

University Park, Pa. -- Penn State Hillel is the sole recipient of Hillel International’s “Great Place to Work Award,” recognizing the organization as the outstanding model in the field for staff culture and professional development.

The largest Jewish campus organization in the world, Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, provides opportunities for Jewish students at more than 500 colleges and universities to explore and celebrate their Jewish identity through its global network of regional centers, campus Foundations and Hillel student organizations.

Each year, the Schusterman International Center (Hillel’s global headquarters staff, who provide a variety of services for the Hillel movement) recognizes exceptional campuses by awarding the Hillel International Vision and Values Awards in the categories of campus partnership, meaningful Jewish experience, great place to work, and development.

“Penn State Hillel has the most talented, dedicated and passionate team that I have ever worked with,” said Aaron Kaufman, executive director of Penn State Hillel. “It is great that the Schusterman International Center recognizes the outstanding professional culture that our team has worked so hard to create.”

“Without question, this organization is vital for keeping alive the pride and presence of Jewish religious and cultural life in the Penn State community," wrote Penn State President Graham Spanier in a letter of support. "Moreover, we have the best staff and student leadership that I’ve ever seen in Hillel.”
