Brenda Harms, principal consultant for Stamats Inc., will discuss the latest research findings on recruitment and retention of adult learners during this year’s Hendrick Best Practices for Adult Learners Conference. The conference theme is “INNOVATION 2010: Opportunities for the New Decade.” Sponsored by the Penn State Commission for Adult Learners, the event will take place on Monday, May 10, at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.
During the one-day conference, Penn State administrators, faculty and staff will share their best practices for working with adult learners and improving the educational experiences of this growing student population. There also will be a panel discussion with adult learners moderated by Eric Hoover, senior reporter with the Chronicle of Higher Education, and a presentation by Judy Wertheim, vice president for Higher Education Services and Administration, Council for Adult and Experiential Learning, about prior learning assessment.
