LiveGreen with Penn State's EcoCAR

How do you live green? Well, just ask the members of the Penn State Advanced Vehicle Technologies (AVT) team who created LiveGreen, a campaign to promote the idea of sustainability at Penn State.

Throughout March and April, members of the team implemented LiveGreen at youth presentations, community events and Earth Week at Penn State.

"LiveGreen was just another way to have students and community members come together and take a stance for sustainability," said Dana Bubonovich, the outreach coordinator for the AVT team. "It is all about thinking and living green in every day life."

To promote LiveGreen, the team partnered with State College Mayor Elizabeth Goreham, Paul Ruskin of Penn State's Office of Physical Plant, Drew Astorino of the football team and Mike El-Saleh of the Penn State fencing team to create a LiveGreen video that focuses on how to live green at Penn State.

''Getting influencers involved in the campaign was a large factor of its success," said Bubonovich. "Hopefully, other students and faculty at Penn State can see the importance of LiveGreen and how it can positively impact society."

The team also handed out more than 5,000 LiveGreen bracelets to students, community members and youth in the area. These bracelets symbolized the importance of living a green lifestyle in the community.

The AVT team will continue to promote LiveGreen throughout campus and hope other organizations will become involved.
