CFW mentoring program to hold open house on May 11

The Penn State Commission for Women's Mentoring Program is currently accepting applications for mentors and protégés for the 2010-11 program year. Applicants may apply at http://www.equity.psu.edu/cfw/programs/mentor_application.asp online. The application deadline is Tuesday, June 1.

The mentoring program, initiated in 1999, promotes professional and personal development for Penn State faculty, exempt and nonexempt staff, and technical-service employees by pairing protégés with mentors who can advise them on their individual and specific professional goals to help them become more effective in their current positions, as well as career advancement. Employees can apply as either protégés or mentors, depending on their needs and goals.

Those interested in learning more about the program are welcome to attend an open house from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, in suite 420 of the James M. Elliott Building on the University Park campus. Those who are interested but unable to attend the open house may visit http://www.equity.psu.edu/cfw/programs/mentor.asp for more information or contact the current mentoring program co-chairs, Laurie Schoonhoven, at lms28@psu.edu, or Christy Long, at acb3@psu.edu.
