Denise Potosky, professor of management and organization at Penn State Great Valley, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar Grant and Alsace Regional Research Award to conduct research at the University of Strasbourg (Louis Pasteur University) during the spring semester in 2011.
For six months, Potosky will investigate human resource management practices, personnel assessment procedures and perceptions, and intercultural adjustment in organizations. This work will extend Potosky’s research program on technology-mediated selection and staffing processes to include international perspectives on assessment, and will also provide her the opportunity to explore some new ideas regarding cross-cultural psychological adjustment and adaptation. As a visiting scholar, she will collaborate with French scholars at the Center for the Study of Applied Management Science (CESAG) within the School of Management at the University of Strasbourg. Located near the geographic borders of France, Germany and Switzerland, Strasbourg is the parliamentary capital of Europe.
