Penn State employees, retirees and their dependents in the Centre region now have a new walk-in family medicine practice available to them. The practice, operated by the Penn State Hershey Medical Group and located within the Windmere Center at 476 Rolling Ridge Drive in State College, is open from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. As demand increases in the coming months, there are plans to expand hours of service.
Penn State employees, retirees and their dependents can walk in without an appointment and see one of the medical group’s nine State College-based family medicine providers. The walk-in service is available to treat minor illnesses such as colds, flu, and sinus and ear infections. Highmark Blue Shield medical coverage is accepted.
This new offering complements the medical group’s existing same-day appointment and walk-in service at its 1850 E. Park Ave., State College, Pa., location in the Centre Medical Sciences Building.
Patients can schedule same-day appointments at the Park Avenue location Monday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. Walk-in hours are 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday through Friday evenings, as well as Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m.
