Administrative Fellows Program informational session to be held

An informational meeting on the Administrative Fellows Program has been scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, in the conference room at 201 Old Main on Penn State's University Park campus. The meeting is for those interested in the program and is designed to allow past fellows to field questions from prospective fellows. Those interested in attending should RSVP to Katryn Boynton on or before Tuesday, Nov. 2, at or 814-863-7494.

The program offers Penn State faculty and staff who hold standing positions the opportunity to work with senior University officers to gain knowledge and experiences pertaining to the challenges of leadership in the academic community. The program provides the chance for participants to strengthen their administrative talents and qualifications by working with a Penn State administrator in a mentoring relationship. Fellows increase their understanding of the contexts within which decisions are made and gain an enhanced understanding of the various units across the University. Mentors for the 2011-12 academic year will be Madlyn L. Hanes, vice president for Commonwealth Campuses; Rodney P. Kirsch, senior vice president for development and alumni relations; and Robert N. Pangborn, vice president and dean for undergraduate education. The length of the program is for the academic year.

Applications and information about the program may be found on the website for the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, at online.
