'Blueprint for Prosperity' event to take place Oct. 27

From 8 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, the Dauphin County Health Improvement Partnership will hold "Blueprint for Prosperity V: Engaging the Community to Improve Health Care." The event will take place in Brady Hall on the Pinnacle Health Harrisburg Hospital Campus and will feature Ron Williams director of Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital’s Weight Loss Program.

In May 2009, Harrisburg Mayor Steve Reed introduced Blueprint for Posterity, a regional initiative that laid the groundwork for a citizen and community institution planning process to create strategies and solutions for issues identified through a series of public forums. To date, there have been public forums on the topics of education and quality of life. This health care forum represents the final piece of the initiative.

Other speakers at the forum include Sen. Pat Vance, David Turkewitz of York Hospital; and Rhonda Johnson of Highmark.

Members of the campus community are encouraged to attend the forum and share their thoughts on a variety topics related to the implications and challenges of health care reform. Registration is not required to attend. Please RSVP to Paula Henry at United Way of the Capital Region at phenry@uwcr.org or 717-724-4057.
