The Penn State Advanced Vehicle Technologies (AVT) Team will hold an EcoCAR Year Three Kickoff and Odyssey Day from noon to 3 p.m. on Oct. 22 at the Thomas D. Larson Pennsylvania Transportation Institute in celebration of National Energy Awareness Month.
The national Odyssey Day event aims to promote alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies.
On hand for the event will be Penn State's B20 extended range electric vehicle, two cars belonging to the University's Eco-marathon team, the Formula SAE racing team's vehicle, other cars built by the AVT team and TranTech Energy's propane autogas vehicle.
State College Mayor Elizabeth Goreham and College of Engineering Dean David Wormley will speak at the event.
Penn State's AVT team placed third during the second year of the national EcoCAR: The NeXt Challenge competition in May.
