Heart and Vascular Institute at Hershey receives $20,000 gift

Penn State Hershey Heart and Vascular Institute recently purchased a portable ventilator with a $20,000 gift from the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Eagles. The Heart and Vascular Institute is a national model for comprehensive cardiovascular care, and the Institute and its skilled clinicians are routinely ranked among America’s best.

“The Fraternal Order of Eagles contributed the gift knowing of the excellence of Penn State Hershey Heart and Vascular Institute,” said Larry Mendenhall, state president for the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Eagles. Over the years, the organization has given $71,000 to support heart initiatives at Penn State Hershey, adding to their total of $251,400 donated since 1983.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles is an international not-for-profit organization established in 1898 and exists to uphold peace, equality and prosperity for humanity. Social events, charities, and international sports teams are some of the activities that involve its members and influence society’s well-being. Among other important things, the organization has participated in legislation programs that changed history such as Social Security, Old Age Pensions, and Medicare.
