White House, DHS officials to visit College of IST

Representatives from the White House and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will be visiting the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, in room 113 of the IST Building (the Cybertorium) on Penn State's University Park campus. The event is open to the public. The officials, who are coming to the college as part of a cyber security initiative that the government is undertaking with IST, will be announcing the new cyber security initiative and talking about what college students can do with cyber security and career options in the field.

Speakers include:

-- Nicole Dean, deputy director, National Cyber Security Division, National Protection and Programs Directorate, United States Department of Homeland Security;

-- Magdalena Benitez, National Initiative for Cyber Education, National Institute of Standards and Technology, United States Department of Commerce;

-- Keri Nusbaum, director of recruitment and development, National Cyber Security Division, National Protection and Programs Directorate, United States Department of Homeland Security; and

-- Tim Fraser, director of the national cyber security awareness campaign, National Protection and Programs Directorate, United States Department of Homeland Security.
