Mehta keynote to kick off International Education Week

Khanjan Mehta, senior research associate in the electronic and computer services department and affiliate faculty member in the School of Engineering Design, Technology and Professional Programs, will speak at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, in 113 Information Sciences and Technology Building on Penn State's University Park campus.

Mehta is the keynote speaker of this year's International Education Week, Nov. 15-19, and his presentation will kick off the week.

Mehta will discuss his recent experiences in Kenya, where he mentored the Mashavu, WishVast and EssentialDesign teams as part of a Humanitarian Engineering and Social Entrepreneurship (HESE) initiative. He will talk about behind-the-scenes stories that cameras didn't capture in the Global Penn State television pilot, in which he and his students tackled challenges related to health care, unemployment, renewable energy and food production in Kenya.

The discussion is hosted by University Office of Global Programs and HESE. It is free and open to the public.
