Students advised of football traffic impact after Thanksgiving break

University Park, Pa. — Penn State students returning on Saturday, Nov. 27, to the University Park campus from the Thanksgiving week break are advised that the home football game that day will significantly impact traffic routes.

University Police recommend that students returning to residence halls on Nov. 27 avoid using Park Avenue at the Interstate 99-Route 322 interchange. One-way patterns on game days will cause residence hall traffic to be redirected. To avoid these issues, students should use East College Avenue and North Atherton Street to access campus.

Student parking permit holders can access East Deck and Eisenhower Parking Deck at no additional charge if their areas' student lots are full.

Residence halls open following the Thanksgiving break at 8 a.m. that Saturday. Normally, residence halls do not open until the Sunday following Thanksgiving, but the change was made to accommodate students attending the regular season football finale against Michigan State.

Residence halls will remain open after 8 a.m., so students may return to their rooms at any time that day.

Kickoff time for the Michigan State game has not been announced yet. An announcement of time and television arrangements is expected by Monday (Nov. 22).
