Two aerospace engineers win AIAA service award

Two aerospace engineering faculty members were each named winners of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Sustained Service Award. The faculty members are Lyle Long, distinguished professor of aerospace engineering, and Philip Morris, the Boeing professor of aerospace engineering.

AIAA cited Long's creation of the Journal of Aerospace Computing, Information and Communication, his numerous publications and his service on technical committees.

Morris was noted for his three decades of service to AIAA, including his work as an author, associate editor, conference chair and organizer and technical committee chair.
