Volunteers sought for winter trash-to-treasure sale

The Student United Way is seeking volunteers to help sort items for the upcoming winter trash-to-treasure sale. Sorting began Jan. 10 and runs until the day before the sale, on Feb. 4. The sorting sessions will be held Monday, Thursday and Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. with the exception of Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 17), when sorting will take place from 1 to 7 p.m., and Friday, Jan. 21 (no sorting). Student United Way also is seeking volunteers to help on the day of the sale, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 5, in 106 Fisher Hall, in the East Halls complex.

Those interested in helping can visit http://www.volunteer.psu.edu/ for more information about sorting times and locations, or to sign up to volunteer. The dates and times will be posted to the site approximately two weeks in advance. Those who have further questions can contact Kayla Heck, at kih5043@psu.edu. Proceeds from the sale, which normally brings in about 10 tons of donations, will benefit the Centre County United Way and its 40 partner agencies.
