Penn State Worthington Scranton now offers English degree program

Students interested in staying close to home while earning their bachelor’s degree now have one more option available to them at Penn State Worthington Scranton. The campus received approval in October to begin delivering the university’s Bachelor of Arts in English at the campus.

“We’ve already begun enrolling students and marketing this degree to potential students and will continue to aggressively market this degree program, as well as all of our others,” said Sandy Feather, associate director of enrollment services.

English is now one of nine four-year degrees offered at the campus, following closely on the campus’ approval to offer the Bachelor of Science in Science last year, one of only two of Penn State's Commonwealth Campuses to do so.

“This is a great opportunity for our campus as well as current and future students,” said Chancellor Mary-Beth Krogh-Jespersen. “We’ve seen a lot of instances recently where students who enroll at our campus opt to stay here to complete their degrees, and this new program gives them yet another option in attaining their career goals.”

Presently the campus offers four-year degrees in American studies; business; English; human development and family studies; information sciences and technology; letters, arts and sciences; nursing; organizational management; and science.

Associate's degrees are offered in building engineering technology (AET option); business administration; human development and family studies; information sciences and technology; letters, arts and sciences; and nursing.
