Smarts spaces focus of architectural engineering seminar

Richard Behr, the Charles and Elie Matts professor of architectural engineering, will present "The Penn State Smart Spaces Center: Holistic Research for Adaptive Aging in Community" at noon on Jan. 28, in 107 Engineering Unit B on Penn State's University Park campus.

The event, part of the ongoing Architectural Engineering Seminar Series, is free and open to the public.

Behr's work focuses on how research in aging, home design, technology, community planning and public policy can be used to create innovative and practical solutions to enable elderly persons to remain at home and in their communities as long as possible while maintaining a high quality of life.
