Students compete in MATHCOUNTS competition at Penn State Fayette

Middle school students from five area schools participated in the 2011 MATHCOUNTS competition held recently at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. The annual competition challenges students with various mathematical problems and equations. MATHCOUNTS is comprised of three individual rounds and one team round. The top three students—Hannah Gibbons, grade 8; Jack Fudala, grade 7 and Tyler Christy, grade 8—from Margaret Bell Miller Middle School in Waynesburg, will compete in the state competition in Harrisburg. Also going to Harrisburg is the AJ McMullen Middle School team who won the team competition.
