Penn State Beaver faculty publications announced

Publications written by Penn State Beaver faculty were announced recently.

-- Mari Pierce, assistant professor of administration of justice, co-authored "Preventing Child Abuse," a chapter in the book "Crime Prevention: Theory, Practice, and Evaluation" published by Adalet Yaymeni. Pierce also co-authored "The Impact of Race on the Pretrial Decision" which appeared in the American Journal of Criminal Justice. Pierce holds a doctorate in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in criminal justice from New Mexico State University and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Whitman College. -- Leo Takahashi, assistant professor of physics, wrote an article, "Simple PowerPoint Animation," for the most recent issue of "The Physics Teacher" journal. -- Abhijit Dutt, instructor in information sciences and technology, is a co-author of “Text Classification with Imperfect Hierarchical Structure Knowledge" which was published from proceedings of the 16th Americas Conference on Information Systems, Lima, Peru, at AIS Electronic Library. Dutt holds a master's degree in computer science from the University of Tulsa and a master's degree in physics from the University of Calcutta, India, and can be reached at aud18@psu.edu or 724-773-3972.
