Smeal conference to celebrate women in business

University Park, Pa. -- The Penn State Smeal College of Business is hosting a conference next month to bring together students, alumni and businesswomen for networking, professional development, and a celebration of women in business.

The Powerful Women Paving the Way conference, organized by the Penn State Women in Business student organization, will be held April 15 in Smeal's Business Building. The conference is open to the public and attendees should register online here. The registration fee for the conference is $99 and includes all meals.

Attendees will hear perspectives from some of Smeal's most accomplished business leaders, gain issues-based insights and knowledge that can be applied to their professional and personal lives, and forge connections with successful Penn State alumnae.

The full-day event features three keynote speakers. Lizabeth H. Zatkus, executive vice president and chief risk officer for The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc., will speak at 9 a.m. Stephen Sheetz, chairman of Sheetz, Inc., will address the conference at 1:15 p.m. And Linda Wolf, retired chairman and chief executive officer of Leo Burnett Worldwide, will close the conference with a dinner address at 6 p.m. at the Nittany Lion Inn.

Activities also include a leadership assessment workshop and three periods of breakout sessions. The breakout tracks are tailored to the interests of students and professional women and include a general track that will be of interest to all attendees.
