Brandywine hosts Spring Soiree to raise money for students

Penn State Brandywine has put a fun spin on an annual event. To raise money for student scholarships and bring together a community bubbling with Penn State pride, the campus will host a Spring Soiree at the Merion Cricket Club in Haverford, Pa., on Friday, April 8.

The event will be a cocktail buffet reception with many delicious treats, accompanied by music and incredible auction items for bid.

Need a vacation? Generous friends of the campus will auction off their homes in Myrtle Beach, Va. and Sea Isle City, N.J. Looking to buy something sparkly for someone special? One lucky winner will take home a $100 gift card to Tiffany’s. And lucky Phillies fans can win prime seats for the upcoming season. Proceeds from these and many more exciting auction items will benefit The Student Scholarship Fund at the campus.

Tickets to the event, which will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 11 p.m., are $85 per person. For more information, contact Risa Pitman at 610-892-1255 or rlp29@psu.edu. The deadline to RSVP is March 25.

The committee of community members responsible for the planning of this unique event includes Lorraine Bradshaw, Sandra Ford, Cathy Judge Cardillo, Eileen Killion, Eleanor Parsons, Sally Schukraft, Doug Smith, Tish Szymurski, Marie Thibault, Gail Unangst and Kathy Yanoshak.

The Merion Cricket Club is located at 325 Montgomery Avenue in Haverford, Pa.
