Student group offers lawnmower tune up

Students in the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) are offering their annual Lawnmower Clinic on April 1 and 2.

ASABE will give push-type lawnmowers a tune-up, including starting the mower before service; cleaning under the deck; sharpening, balancing and securing the blade; cleaning the air filter; checking, cleaning and gapping spark plugs; changing the oil; washing the mower; and starting the mower after service.

The fee to service mowers dropped off at the Agricultural Engineering Building is $30. For mowers picked up, serviced and returned by ASABE students, the cost is $40.

Information and registration can be found online at or by emailing Josh Lounder at

Proceeds benefit ASABE.
