Performance of Verdi's 'Requiem' to take place April 2

Giuseppe Verdi's epic "Requiem" has been hailed as a masterpiece celebrating death and rebirth, capturing the drama of human love, loss, sacrifice and renewal. Hear this inspired masterwork at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, in Eisenhower Auditorium on Penn State's University Park campus. Maestro Gerardo Edelstein will lead the tour-de-force of the 100-piece Penn State Philharmonic and 300 of the University's choral singers in this concert dedicated to Nina Brown (1922–2010), former director of Penn State's Artist Series (now Center for the Performing Arts).

Emeritus Professor of Music D. Douglas Miller will present a pre-concert talk beginning at 7 p.m. in the conference room of Eisenhower Auditorium. In conjunction with the Requiem, an alumni reunion weekend is planned. For details visit http://www.muisc.psu.edu/requiem online.

Buy your tickets in advance for School of Music concerts in Eisenhower and Schwab Auditoriums and save 40 percent off the price of admission.
