Penn State Computer Store to hold spring tech expo April 6

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 6, Penn State’s Computer Store will hold its spring expo, “Every Day Tech,” in the HUB-Robeson Center. Penn State students, faculty and staff are encouraged to check out the latest and greatest technology from each of the 20 vendors who will be showcased.

“Every Day Tech” will focus on up-and-coming trends in the technology world, as well as the more basic, daily use items that are must-haves for any student or faculty member. The event will showcase popular technology including computers, accessories, latest tablet models and a wide array of computer software.

Vendors attending the event include Adobe, Apple, Dell, Toshiba, Douglas Stewart, Mobile Edge and VMware, among many others. Several Penn State-affiliated programs will also be in attendance to educate the Penn State community on the various resources available on campus.

Several vendors will host eight, 15 minute breakout sessions on the latest products, services and technology trends for those who are interested. These breakout sessions will range in topics from the introduction and demonstration of the iPad 2, to the time-saving features involved in using Endnote.

In addition to the vendor showcase and breakout sessions, students and faculty will have the opportunity to win one of the many door prizes, as well as the highly-anticipated grand prizes including an iPad 2, Xbox 360 with Kinect and a Dell Inspiron Duo.

Penn State’s Computer Store encourages all students and staff to take advantage of this free event, regardless of their familiarity with technology. The Expo is meant to keep the Penn State community up-to-date with the rapidly changing trends in technology.

Penn State's Computer Store is a cost recovery service of Penn State University, offering educational discounts to Penn State students, faculty and staff. The store is located on the main floor of the HUB and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
