Summer brings cultural events at Penn State Abington

As the weather warms, previews of the latest summer movies and an outdoor jazz concert are on the playbill at picturesque Penn State Abington.

Moylan C. Mills, professor emeritus of integrative arts, will host "The Summer Arts Roundup: The Must Sees and Don’t Bothers" beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 6, in room 112 of the Woodland Building. The evening will feature a lively discussion on the hottest films and shows from Broad Street to Broadway, video excerpts and tips from Mills, “The Expert.” Admission is $5 per person.

Beginning at 7 p.m. on May 19, join us for fresh air and sweet melodies and spend "An Evening Under the Stars" with the Eric Mintel Jazz Quartet. Bring your own chairs, blankets and picnic baskets. Free water ice for the young and young-at-heart. The quartet will perform at the campus' picturesque outdoor amphitheater. In the event of rain, the concert will take place at Lubert Commons in the Lares Building. Admission is free.

Cultural Arts programs are free to faculty, staff and students with a current Penn State ID. Easy parking is available. For information and a complete listing of events for the Abington Cultural Arts Series, call 215-881-7800 or visit http://www.abington.psu.edu/CA online.
