The Penn State Beaver Brodhead Cultural Center’s 35th summer season of programming will begin June 21 at the J. P. Giusti Amphitheater, Brodhead Road, Monaca. This summer’s program sponsors include The Times, Clearview Federal Credit Union, and the Beaver Valley Musicians Union Local 82-545.
All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and are open to the public. Most shows are free, except the Center Theatre Players production of the musical, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." Tickets are $15 and can be obtained in advance by contacting the Brodhead Cultural Center at 724-773-3610 or rxm70@psu.edu. The musical will be held in the auditorium of the Student Union Building.
In the event of rain or inclement weather, shows will be held in the auditorium. There are no rain dates for any shows.
The Beaver Valley Area Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association will sell Penn State Creamery ice cream prior to some shows and will sell concessions before and during every show at the amphitheater. Sale proceeds benefit the alumni chapter’s scholarships for Beaver campus students.
The Mill Creek Valley Historical Association will staff and host free tours of the Baker-Dungan Museum located on the hill overlooking the J. P. Giusti Amphitheater. The museum, which is free and open for one hour prior to all shows held in the amphitheater, contains a variety of local historical artifacts, tools, furniture, clothing, art and other displays.
