Parents: Help your Penn State student stay connected

Earlier this month, nearly 12,000 Penn State graduates donned caps and gowns to celebrate commencement. And throughout the summer and fall, approximately 8,000 high school seniors will start their college careers at Penn State. Either way, as a parent, you can help your student stay connected with the University by giving them a membership to the Penn State Alumni Association or the Blue and White Society.

For new graduates

Deciding what to get your new Penn State alumnus for their graduation can be easy -- set them up with a life membership in the Penn State Alumni Association, the largest dues-paying alumni association in the world. The association offers dozens of benefits, ranging from help with job searches and career networking to money-saving discounts to opportunities to attend social events and connect with fellow Penn Staters. For just $550, you can ensure that your new graduate maintains a life-long connection to the Penn State family with the tools needed to successfully transition into life after college.

To activate a membership for your new alumnus, visit http://www.alumni.psu.edu/graduation. For more information, visit the Penn State Alumni Association’s website at http://www.alumni.psu.edu or call 800-548-LION (5466).

For incoming first-year and current students

Make sure your new Penn Stater gets involved on campus and into the Penn State spirit by giving them a membership in the Blue and White Society — the student membership group of the Penn State Alumni Association. Blue and White Society groups are active on 19 campuses across the Commonwealth. Members participate in fun, campus-wide events; conduct community service activities; get discounts at Penn State Bookstore campus locations; receive a free T-shirt and more. For just $15, you can launch your child’s Penn State career in the most Blue-and-White way and ensure they’re involved from the start.
