Pentagon lauds Penn State Electro-Optics Center

A team including Penn State's Electro-Optics Center (EOC) recently was recognized for its work by the U.S. Department of Defense. The Penn State-Army-Navy team won the 2010 Joint Service Value Engineering Achievement Award for its automatic image intensifier measurement system.

The award is designed to honor government-industry projects that exemplify innovation, creativity and productivity. The EOC was created in 1999 under a cooperative agreement with the Office of Naval Research and is headquartered in Freeport, Pa.
