Event, 'Perilous Seas: Piracy in the 21st century,' set for Sept. 26

Organized by Penn State Law Professor John Lopatka, an event titled "Perilous Seas: Piracy in the 21st Century" will feature a discussion on the law of the sea, enforcement of admiralty law and a historical perspective on piracy. The event will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Sept. 26, in the Greg Sutliff Auditorium at the Lewis Katz Building on Penn State's University Park campus.

Confirmed speakers include:

-- Vice Admiral James Houck, Judge Advocate General, U.S. Navy

-- Professor Joel Samuels, University of South Carolina School of Law

-- Dr. Clive Schofield, Director of Research and QEII Research Fellow, Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources & Security, University of Wollongong.
