Cultural Center will offer free concerts, sell Creamery ice cream

The Penn State Beaver Brodhead Cultural Center will offer four free concerts in August before concluding its 35th summer season of programming. Due to ongoing electrical work at the J. P. Giusti Amphitheater, all of this summer’s shows are being held in the auditorium of the campus Student Union Building. Shows are free and open to the public.

In addition, the Beaver Valley Area Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association will sell Penn State Creamery ice cream and other refreshments in the lobby prior to and/or during each concert. Ice cream will be sold from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.; concession sales will begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude at the end of intermission. Sale proceeds benefit the Alumni Chapter’s scholarships for Beaver campus students.

The August performance schedule follows:
Metropolitan Symphonic Band  at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9
Beaver County Symphonic Wind Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16
Boilermaker Jazz Band at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23
Joe Grkman Polka Band at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30

This summer’s Brodhead Cultural Center program sponsors include The Times, Clearview Federal Credit Union, and the Beaver Valley Musicians Union Local 82-545.
