Staff Advisory Council plans 'Conversations with the President' forum

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Staff Advisory Council will host a forum with Penn State President Graham Spanier titled "Conversations with the President" from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, on the University Park campus. The forum, limited to 100 staff members, will afford staff the chance to talk with Spanier about opportunities and challenges concerning staff at Penn State.

Those interested in attending should register at http://ohr.psu.edu/staff-advisory-council/conversations-with-the-president. The Staff Advisory Council will review all requests submitted and will notify those staff who could be accommodated at the forum about one week before the event -- information about the specific location of the forum will be included with those notifications. Topics to be discussed and questions to be asked will be generated through input received from staff. The deadline to apply is Oct. 28.

The Staff Advisory Council, "the voice of Penn State staff," was created in 1995 and exists to explore issues, policies and practices that impact or are impacted by staff employees; suggests revisions or new initiatives to improve same; and serves as an advocate for staff welfare and development. The council acts in an advisory capacity to the central administration through the associate vice president for human resources.
