Sustainability Town Hall meeting set for Nov. 8 at Penn State Abington

Penn State Abington faculty, staff and students are invited to offer their input as the University drafts its first strategic plan for sustainability. Please join us for a town hall meeting with representatives from the University Sustainability Council from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, in Room 8 of the Sutherland Building at Penn State Abington.

Town hall meetings are being held at each Penn State location to give individuals the opportunity to discuss the plan in its current form and offer suggestions in support of the plan’s goals. Erik Foley, director of the Penn State Campus Sustainability Office, will be joined by Susannah Barsom, associate director of the Penn State Center for Sustainability, at the meeting.

In Penn State's University-wide strategic plan, “Priorities for Excellence,” University leaders noted that one key to Penn State’s continuing success will be "creating a sustainable university, not just in conventional environmental terms, but in a wide array of resource dimensions, including fiscal sustainability."

Individuals may share ideas by email at sustainablestate@psu.edu or at http://green.psu.edu/SustPlan/form.asp/. The final draft of the Strategic Plan for Sustainability is scheduled for completion by Dec. 31.
