Inaugural event to celebrate innovation set for Nov. 22

Great ideas in biomedical research can lead to great medicine: That's innovation.

To recognize faculty who have taken their innovative ideas that next step toward commercialization, the Penn State College of Medicine Office of Technology Development is launching the Penn State Hershey Innovation Awards. All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend a reception in recognition of colleagues who have had patents issued or licensing agreements executed from Jan. 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.

The event is set for Nov. 22 in the University Conference Center on the Medical Center and College of Medicine campus, with a reception at 6 p.m. and brief remarks and faculty recognition beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The following faculty members will be recognized: Vincent Chau¸ Neil Christensen, Gary Clawson, Peter Dillon, Randy Haluck, Mark Kester , Donald Mackay, Weihua Pan, Xuwen Peng, Ugar Salli, Diane Thiboutot and Kent Vrana.
