Penn State Wilkes-Barre names director of academic affairs

Chancellor Charles Davis announces the appointment of Albert Lozano-Nieto as director of academic affairs at Penn State Wilkes-Barre.

“As a campus, we are extremely pleased to have someone of Dr. Lozano’s stature not only as a faculty member but now as a campus leader,” said Davis. “Albert is a very accomplished academic – both in the classroom and through his research. He is a focused on the success of our students and I am confident in his ability to move our campus programs forward.”

Albert Lozano-Nieto, professor of engineering for 15 years at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, looks forward to his new opportunity.

“The role of a director of academic affairs is an extremely important one on any campus and I am very humbled to be chosen to lead the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Academic Affairs office,” explained Lozano-Nieto. “Our campus has a very bright future ahead of it and I’m very enthusiastic about the new role I will be playing in that future.”

Born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, Lozano-Nieto received his academic degrees from Polytechnic University of Catalonia. He and his wife are proud parents to two Penn State graduates.
