Kaut named CAA Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Following an 18-save performance in a 4-3 overtime win against then-No. 2/4 Notre Dame, Penn State men's lacrosse sophomore goalkeeper Austin Kaut (Morton) has been named CAA Player of the Week.

The Morton, Pa., native's play helped the Nittany Lions, who downed Notre Dame for the first time since 2002, defeat their highest ranked opponent in program history. With 18 saves, including one in overtime, Kaut recorded his second double-digit save total of the season. The sophomore stopped 15 shots in Penn State's season-opening game against then-No. 6 North Carolina on Feb. 11.

Through three games, Kaut, who earned his second career conference player of the week accolade, has led Penn State to a 2-1 record while maintaining a .629 save percentage and 7.92 goals-against average.
