Kids and parents can get fit together

The University Fitness Center (UFC) at Penn State Hershey is offering Family Shape, a class that will inspire kids and adults to be physically active and promote working as a family to make healthy living choices and maintain that active lifestyle. The six-week program runs Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 12 through May 24 (no class April 19).

If not now, when? Spring is the perfect opportunity to make a commitment together to be more active!

All families are welcome, and UFC membership is not required. Exercise modifications can be made for those who may need it. Because children model the behavior of their parents, a positive and upbeat “I can do it!” approach to working out is required, and no child can attend a workout session without a parent.

Families meet weekly with exercise physiologist and will learn cardiovascular, weight lifting, stretching and flexibility activities, as well as tips to maintain physical activity.

The cost is $72 for a family of two and $90 for a family of four. Visit pennstatehershey.org/ufc to register or for more information.
