Research Unplugged video online; next speaker April 5

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Mark Neely, McCabe-Greer Professor in the American Civil War, spoke on "Lincoln and Liberty: A Closer Look at Abraham Lincoln and the Constitution in Wartime" at last week’s Research Unplugged event.

This Thursday (April 5) Mary Poss will present "Friends or Foes? The Yin and Yang of Viral Infections."

Poss is professor in Biology and in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences in the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics. She studies emerging virus infections, including how viruses respond to new host environments.

Research Unplugged presentations are held from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. on Thursdays, in the Schlow Centre Region Library’s Downsbrough Community Room, in downtown State College. They are free and open to all, with complimentary free refreshments, and are sponsored by Penn State University Relations and the Office of the Vice President for Research, in cooperation with Schlow Centre Region Library.
