State Senator to speak at Penn State Fayette Commencement May 5

UNIONTOWN, Pa. — Richard A. Kasunic, Pennsylvania State Senator, will share thoughts and insights with the 2012 graduating class of Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus on Saturday, May 5 as the featured speaker at the campus’ commencement ceremony. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. in Penn State Fayette’s Main Arena in the Community Center.

A 1964 graduate of Dunbar Township High School, Sen. Kasunic earned an associate’s degree in business administration from Robert Morris Junior College in 1967 and a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Youngstown State University in 1970. He then served with the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1970 to 1976.

Kasunic was elected to the Pennsylvania Senate in November 1994, highlighting a public service career that began in 1982, when he was elected to represent the 52nd Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. In January 1995, Kasunic began a four-year term representing the 32nd Senatorial District and is now serving his fifth term.
