Healthy skin made in the shade

Join the Penn State Hershey Department of Dermatology on Saturday, May 5 in the University Physician Center, Suite 100 and learn about “Healthy Skin Made in the Shade.” The day’s events include a free skin cancer screening, games and entertainment, and a “March of the Umbrellas” -- an event for all ages to promote the prevention of skin cancer.

Appointments are required for the free screening; call 1-800-243-1455 to register. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., participants will enjoy games, face painting, entertainment, and ice cream. The “March of the Umbrellas” event will be at 1 p.m. Hats will be given to the first 100 kids, age 12 and under, who participate in the “march” across the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center grounds. UV Protection Umbrellas will be available for use during the march.

There will also be an optional visit to the Hershey Gardens. One hundred free admission tickets will be available upon request during the march.

The event is sponsored by the Dermatology Community Sun Protection Project, Janssen Biotech, Inc. and LaRoche-ePosay.
