Spring student art show continues through May 4 at Penn State York

The artwork of Penn State York students is featured on the north glass lobby of the second floor of the campus’ Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center) as the spring art show is under way and continues through May 4. Nineteen original pieces by 10 students are part of the show. The exhibit is sponsored by the Penn State York Visual Arts Club.

Best of Show went to Laura White, Marietta, Pa., for her drawing “Bulletin Board.” Honorable mentions were awarded to Laura Davila Reyes, East Berlin, Pa., for her painting, “Lemon” and to Aditya Hadkar, York, Pa., for his drawing, “Journey.”

Mindy Christian, director of programs at York Arts, served as judge for the show. Fred Haag, associate professor of visual arts at Penn State York, is the adviser for the Visual Arts Club.

Other artists with pieces in the show are Ray Ames, Dallastown, Pa.; Zack Bitner, Drumore, Pa.; Ryan Dahl, Manchester, Md.; Natalia Snyder, Stewartstown, Pa.; Rachel Wolf, Upperco, Md.; Cait Hughes, Lancaster, Pa.; and Joel Wiggins, Quarryville, Pa.  Some works are for sale and range in price from $40 to $220. Hours for the exhibition are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
