The 31st annual Women's Day will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus' Maggie Hardy Magerko Auditorium.
The featured speaker is award-winning humorist Peggy Kline. Unlike most professional speakers, Kline’s passion is devoted to nurturing the needs of women with humor and hope. Kline gets rave reviews because she really enjoys her mission of improving the quality of life for women -- sharing a message of how women can take care of themselves while taking care of so much and so many.
This year’s Women’s Day workshops include: “Hypnosis: It Is Not Just a Stage Show,” presented by certified hypnotherapist Janet Ritenour; “Yoga: Everybody Can Practice,” presented by certified yoga instructor Susan Frenchik; “Nutrition Myths … the Good, Bad and the Ugly,” presented by Uniontown Hospital diabetes dietitian Pat Leyshock; and “The First Five Years Are Forever,” exploring the importance of the first five years of life, presented by Jeanine Fahnestock, PNC Grow Up Great program manager, and William Hug, assistant professor of education at California University of Pennsylvania.
More than 40 local agencies and businesses will take part in the Community Service and Informational Fair. Women’s Day participants can gather information about services and volunteer opportunities from the participating organizations.
Registration for Women’s Day is required and participation is limited. Registration by May 11 is $20; after May 11 is $25. The fee includes workshops, morning refreshments, the information agency fair, Chinese auction, luncheon, and presentation by the featured speaker Peggy Kline.
