Video: 26-year quest to a Penn State degree

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State adult learner Shounda Hathaway started her academic career at Penn State Altoona back in 1986. Since then, life threw her some challenges. But thanks to Penn State World Campus, she now calls herself a Penn State alumna.

A Penn State degree has been Hathaway's dream for as long as she can remember. Since starting at Penn State Altoona 26 years ago, she got married and has been raising her son Joshua, who lives with autism.

Hathaway feared that a Penn State degree was out of reach until she discovered Penn State World Campus. Now 26 years later, she has her degree.
