Jones elected president of Pa. Emergency Health Services Council

Dave Jones, manager of Penn State's University Ambulance within University Health Services (UHS), was recently elected president of the Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council (PEHSC). Having served with PEHSC since 1999, he brings more than 30 years of paramedic experience to his new position.

"The council brings collaborative feedback to the State Bureau of Emergency Medical Services on issues ranging from reimbursement and treatment protocols to critical care and policies,” said Jones. “PEHSC is a cross section of industry stakeholders that provides input and advice necessary to move emergency health services forward."

"Throughout his entire career, Dave has been dedicated to improving emergency medical services not only at Penn State but across Pennsylvania,” said Doris Guanowsky, senior associate director at UHS. “The election to president of PEHSC is recognition of Dave’s leadership abilities and will allow him to impact emergency services and education."

The Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council (PEHSC) serves as an independent advisory body to The Pennsylvania Department of Health and other agencies on matters pertaining to emergency medical services. As an advocate for its diverse member organizations, PEHSC's ultimate purpose is to foster improvements in the quality and delivery of emergency health services throughout the Commonwealth.
