Physician assistant joins University Health Services

Janea Guiher, physician assistant, recently joined the staff of University Health Services (UHS), Penn State’s student health service at the University Park campus. As one of seven physician assistants at UHS, Guiher will provide medical care to students assigned to the 4East team within clinical services. In order to provide continuity of care and establish a relationship with a primary care provider, every UHS patient is assigned to a health care team.

A graduate of Saint Francis University, Guiher is NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certified. Prior to joining Penn State, Guiher worked as a physician assistant with the Clearfield Hospital Emergency Department. “Janea’s experience in emergency medicine will be a great asset for her work here at UHS,” said Lynn Huddell, clinical manager.

UHS provides nationally accredited medical care and health promotion services that help students get healthy and stay healthy. In addition to medical treatment for illness and injury, on-site services include lab, X-ray, pharmacy, a nutrition clinic, physical therapy.
