Penn State Athletics launches social media rewards program

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is proud to announce its new social media program, One Team Rewards. The program awards points to Nittany Lion fans for their social media interactions with Penn State Athletics, fostering the global fan community and incorporating great prize giveaways along the way.

"Nittany Lion fans everywhere have always demonstrated a great loyalty to Penn State, and that comes, in part, from feeling connected and interacting with other Penn Staters. This is one small way we can assist that and also say thank-you," said Greg Myford, Associate Athletic Director for Business Relations & Communications. "Our fans are extremely active on social media, as evidenced by their support in our recent College Colors Day victory. With our increasing emphasis on digital communication, we felt this was the perfect way to reward them for showing their Penn State spirit behind all of our teams and sharing it with us and other Nittany Lion fans."

Penn State has partnered with Row27 Studios for the One Team Rewards program. Fans who participate in the program can earn points for sharing and liking Penn State Athletics Facebook posts, images and videos; retweeting Official Penn State Athletics tweets; using hashtags like #OneTeam and #WeAre; and/or checking in to Penn State Athletic facilities on foursquare during events.

Fans can use their accumulated One Team Rewards points to enter contests for prizes such as Official Penn State gear, autographed merchandise and more. Contests begin and end on a rotating basis, so it's never too late for Nittany Lion fans to get involved!
